About me
Vanessa is a qualified YMCA Level 3 Pilates instructor delivering balanced, client-centred mat Pilates classes with a strong emphasis on safe technique, postural alignment, precision of movement and thoughtful progression.
Before moving into Pilates, Vanessa enjoyed a varied professional career — first training and working as a professional ballet dancer, then later building a successful international business career in senior leadership and management consultancy roles. Alongside this, she qualified as an ISTD Licentiate ballet teacher and certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor, a ballet-specific conditioning method rooted in Pilates principles.
With over eight years’ experience teaching ballet at advanced and vocational levels, Vanessa developed a deep understanding of movement mechanics, neural patterning, injury-aware adaptation and progressive training methods. Her business background further strengthened her communication, coaching and people-development skills, all of which now strongly influence her teaching style and approach to client wellbeing.
Vanessa’s teaching combines technical integrity with warmth, creating an environment where clients feel supported, seen and appropriately challenged. She works confidently with mixed abilities and individual needs, with a particular focus on helping clients improve posture, movement quality, strength, mobility and body awareness in a safe and sustainable way.
Deeply committed to ongoing professional development, Vanessa takes a reflective and considered approach to her teaching and values continuous learning in order to provide safe, effective and up-to-date instruction.
Her classes are designed to help people move well, reduce physical tension, build confidence in movement and enjoy the long-term physical and mental wellbeing benefits of Pilates.
